Raised in a small town outside Munich, Germany, to American parents, I consider myself a typical third culture kid. Always having been drawn to the arts, I have spent time in cities like Montreal, London, Amsterdam, Paris and New York. Today I live in Berlin.

Originally trained in classical ballet and theatre, I went on to pursue an academic degree in Media and Cultural Studies in Amsterdam (AUC) and New York (NYU). My academic research drew on art history, anthropology and feminist theories to examine the concept of self-objectification. This thesis expanded my understanding of the portrayal of women in media, and continues to inform my work today.

Drawn back to creating, I went on to pursue work as a writer and film director. My first shortfilm The Necklace was created in the context of the EICAR summer program in Paris, while my second film The missing shoe was produced with the Art-on-the-Run Filmschool in Berlin. My feature script The Bust of Antonius Pius was selected as part of the Maison des Scénaristes in Cannes 2020. My short It’s not Paris, it’s you was created together with LaFilmerie Productions in Paris and showcased at festivals internationally.

As an independent content creator, I have also assisted on Hollywood film projects and worked together with both large and small brands as a (copy)writer and video creator. As a writer, I have also published opinion pieces in German newspapers.

My work reflects my interest in the themes of (cultural) identity, communication and life’s ambiguity. Seeking to share a more female perspective, I aim to contribute to a growing voice of women in the field.
